ASLA-NV to Host “An Introduction to the Living Building Challenge 3.0”

ASLA NV ChapterJoin our Principal Daniel Huard next Wednesday November 12th at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.  Daniel the Facilitator of the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative will deliver the all new Introduction to the Living Building Challenge 3.0 to the members and guests of ASLA-Nevada Chapter.

LVVLBCCLFABeyond being a the Founding Principal of Humann BUilding Solutions, Daniel Huard, PMP, LFA, LEED® AP O+M~BD+C, is an International Advocate for Green Building and Restorative Development.  Daniel completed the requisite training to become an ILFI Ambassador as well as founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative in 2011.  Daniel followed up this commitment with the additional training and application of the Living Building Challenge to earn his Living Future Accredited professional designation (LFA) and was a member of the team that completed Asia’s first Living Building Challenge and LEED v4 Platinum project in Shanghai, China. Daniel remains very active with ILFI presenting, advocating and participating on Projects in locations as diverse as Canada, China, India, Mexico, Panama and here in the US.

Daniel has been active in Green Building for over 25 years, with an ongoing commitment to mentoring, service and leadership contributing to National Fenestration Rating Council as their 2017 and 2018 Board of Directors Vice Chair and Governance Chair, IWBI, ASHRAE, Association of Energy Engineers, USGBC’s LEED Technical Committee, USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group as their 2018 Committee Chair, former – USGBC Western Regional Council Chairperson, USGBC Nevada President, and as well founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative serving as Nevada’s ILFI Ambassador. Daniel as well currently serves the U.S. DOE contributing to their Building Envelope Tech Team and has served as Technical Subject Matter Expert to the US Department of the Interior since 2009. As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy.
